Rymer hails successful Seatrade 2025

The BVI delegation, led by Communications and Works Minister Kye Rymer, has returned from Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 with renewed optimism for the territory’s cruise tourism sector.

Held from April 7 to 10 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the event marked Seatrade’s 40th anniversary and attracted over 11,000 industry professionals from more than 120 countries.

The BVI delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Works, BVI Ports Authority, BVI Tourist Board, Tortola Pier Park Limited, and private sector partners. Minister Rymer expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the meetings and networking opportunities.

“Our focus on sustainability and enhancing the unique appeal of the BVI as a premier cruise destination resonated well with industry leaders,” he stated. He added, “We look forward to implementing these strategies to ensure a sustainable and thriving cruise sector for the territory.”

Deputy Managing Director of the BVI Ports Authority, Dean Fahie, highlighted the importance of the territory’s participation. “We are confident that these collaborations will drive mutual growth and success for both our territory and our cruise partners,” he said.

The delegation engaged in discussions with key stakeholders to strengthen existing partnerships and forge new collaborations within the global cruise market. They also attended conference sessions and workshops, gaining insights into the latest trends and strategies shaping the future of cruise travel.
