San Juan receives 42 new police officers
As part of Mayor Miguel Romero Lugo’s commitment to strengthen the San Juan police force to meet the capital city’s security, life and property protection needs, 42 new cadets graduated from the Municipal Police Academy in a ceremony held this week at the Tapia Theater.

“We recognize the dedication and commitment of each of these cadets to realize this significant achievement,” Romero Lugo said in a statement Tuesday. “We respectfully and hopefully highlight their courage in serving all of San Juan. For our administration, it is a priority to have the resources available for the safety of all San Juan residents; our San Juan Municipal Police continues to rise with the graduation of 42 new police officers.”
During the ceremony, three awards were given for the three highest scores per category: Academic GPA, Shooting Level I, and Shooting Level III. In the Academic GPA category, the bronze medal, with a GPA of 3.87, went to Cadet Priscilla J. Báez Delgado, the silver medal, with a GPA of 3.87, went to Cadet Amarilis D. Vélez, and the gold medal, with a GPA of 3.97, went to Cadet Brandon S. Marrero Rodríguez.
