The project, which has been delayed for months, has left commuters frustrated and angry because officials have not provided timely explanations. However, Rymer explained this week that the project faced setbacks due to necessary changes in survey and design plans.  He assured the public that the necessary amendments had been made and that the project was progressing.

“We acknowledge the inconveniences this project has caused and sincerely apologise for any disruptions experienced by the community. It is important to note that the project has encountered a few delays due to necessary amendments in survey and design,” Rymer said.  According to Rymer, these adjustments were essential to meet all design requirements before starting the concrete works. Rymer acknowledged the inconvenience caused and assured the community that efforts are underway to move the project forward. “The Paraquita Bay to Hodges Creek Road project is entering the next phase with concrete works set to commence [today] 5th February 2025,” Rymer said.
