-fund supports youth empowerment & good governance projects
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI-Applications for the Future Fund is now being accepted by the Governor’s Office until September 20, 2024. The fund, established with support from the United Kingdom government totalling $50,000.00, is designed to support projects in the Virgin Islands (VI) that promote youth empowerment and good governance, a press release from the Governor’s Office said.
Organisations or partnerships across organisations are welcomed to apply for funding for project up to $10,000.00. Youth Empowerment & Good Governance Projects Registered or established Non-profit Organisations or partnerships in the VI can apply for funding for youth empowerment projects geared at encouraging local youth between the ages of 13 to 21 years, to develop new skills or encourage pathways into future work in areas such as tourism, environment, agriculture, sports and other sectors relevant to the VI’s sustainable development, economic growth and overall wellbeing.
Meanwhile, VI Non-Profit Organisations, schools, and community groups with projects that encourage political accountability and good governance can apply for funding for their good governance projects.
