July 6: Luis Hospital Chief Operating Officer Hazel Philbert is selected interim chief executive officer.
July 18: The Florence Williams Library on St. Croix abruptly closes due to emergency maintenance issues. The library had been closed after the 2017 hurricanes due to storm damage and had reopened four months prior to closing.
July 19: The University of the Virgin Islands announces Stephanie Cooper as the Lady Buccaneers’ new head coach for the upcoming 2024- 2025 season.
July 22: The 35th Legislature approves the nomination of Ernest E.Morris Jr. to the Superior Court of the V.I., District of St. Croix.
July 25: The V.I. Water and Power Authority Governing Board announces Karl Knight, chief of staff to Gov. Albert Bryan Jr., to serve as chief executive officer of the utility.
July 30: Casino management company VIGL Operations announces it has signed a contract with Atlantic Caribbean Consulting to oversee and advise development of the Randall “Doc” James Racetrack on St. Croix. VIGL anticipates construction at the site to start in September.
July 30: UVI unveils its Medical School Classroom Building and Biomedical Research Laboratory at the Orville Kean Campus on St. Thomas.
July 31: The V.I. Education Department announces Sharlene Belton-Gonzalez as insular superintendent for public schools in the St. Croix district.
