49 Shots Fired During Fatal Shooting on St. Croix; VIPD Investigating

VIPD reports 49 rounds fired near Jordan’s Supermarket on King Street; victim identified as Jahni Hamilton, 38, of Estate La Grange, pronounced dead at Juan F. Luis Hospital

ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night near Jordan’s Supermarket on King Street in Frederiksted. According to the VIPD, the 911 call center received multiple notifications from the ShotSpotter system at approximately 8:08 p.m., reporting 49 rounds fired in the area. Several citizens also called the center to report hearing gunshots.

Officers from the VIPD, along with members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and forensic team, were dispatched to the scene. While they were on-site, they received information that a possible victim was en route to Juan F. Luis Hospital in a private vehicle.
