CFVI offering grants through Popular V.I. Community Fund

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands is encouraging nonprofits to apply for this year’s Popular V.I. Community Fund grants.

Nonprofits may apply for up to $10,000 to support program-related costs, according to the CFVI statement. In partnership with CFVI, Popular Inc. established the Popular VI Community Fund at CFVI with an initial donation of $100,000 in 2022.

“The purpose of the fund is to support the philanthropic interests of Popular and its employees in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, specifically to enhance services from nonprofit organizations that are focused on youth education and economic empowerment, such as vocational training and employment support, or environmental projects,” said Oran C. Roebuck, senior vice president and division manager of Popular’s Virgin Islands Region.

CFVI and Popular are committed to equitable grantmaking and will consider geographic diversity and the importance of reaching underserved communities in their funding decisions, according to the CFVI statement. For more information about eligibility, evaluation criteria, and to submit an application, visit cfvi.net. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 31.
