Police have launched an investigation into an armed robbery at a popular bar in Sea Cows Bay, the second such incident in less than a month.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated that the robbery occurred late on Monday night, 12 May. “Reports indicate that several armed individuals entered the establishment and demanded valuables,” the RVIPF stated.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Officers responded swiftly and are now working closely with persons connected to the case. “Police responded promptly and have since launched an investigation. Officers are maintaining communication with key persons connected to the incident and are providing updates as the investigation progresses,” the Force explained.
Authorities are urging the public to help identify the suspects. “The RVIPF is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist with this investigation to contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas to (284) 800-8477,” the Force added.
The robbery follows a similar incident reported on 20 April, when two armed men stormed another bar in the same area around 8 pm. In that case, masked suspects allegedly pointed firearms at bartenders and patrons, demanding cash and valuables. High-value items were taken, and the suspects fled before police arrived.
