ST. THOMAS — Detectives with the V.I. Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit are investigating a case involving the alleged unauthorized sharing of private sexual images on social media, leading to multiple criminal charges against a St. Thomas woman.
According to police, the case was reported on September 18, 2025, when a male victim visited the Richard N. Callwood Command to report that intimate photos of him had been shared without his consent. In a statement given to the Domestic Violence Unit on September 26, the man said he first learned about the images on September 6, when a family member informed him that photos depicting him engaged in sexual acts with a woman were circulating online.
The victim told investigators that after viewing the images, he immediately recognized the location and the individuals in the photos. He identified the setting as the residence of Kalila Roberts, the woman seen with him in the images. The victim stated that during the encounter in question, he had repeatedly asked Roberts if the camera in her living room was operational. According to his account, she assured him that the camera “was not functional.”
Despite that assurance, the man said he later discovered that the images had been shared multiple times across several social media platforms, exposing his identity and private activity without permission.
After police began investigating, Roberts surrendered herself to detectives at the Domestic Violence Unit on Thursday. Authorities said she declined to provide a statement, following the advice of private legal counsel.
Police advised Roberts of her constitutional rights before detaining and charging her with non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images (Domestic Violence), cyber harassment, cyber pornography, and disturbance of the peace.
