Robinson sentenced to 25 years in cocaine conspiracy case

Russel Robinson will spend much of his life behind bars after he was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the latest case, this one involving possession of cocaine valued at $1 million.

The 58-year-old Robinson, who will be 83 if he finishes out his prison term, was also placed under 10 years of supervised release by Chief District Judge Robert A. Molloy, following his conviction by a federal jury that found him guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

U.S. Attorney Delia L. Smith, in a statement announcing last week’s sentencing, said that in 2003, Robinson was charged with conspiracy to import and possess cocaine and money laundering. He was sentenced in 2007 to a 160-month prison term or a little over 13 years.
