NHC forecasts deteriorating weather due to Tropical Wave AL95 with high formation chances over the weekend
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued a tropical weather outlook indicating that Tropical Wave AL95, also referred to as Invest 95L, is expected to enter the Caribbean Sea early next week. This system is projected to bring deteriorating marine and weather conditions to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands starting late Monday into Tuesday.
According to the latest model guidance, AL95 is currently producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. However, environmental conditions are forecasted to become conducive for development, with a tropical depression or tropical storm likely to form this weekend. The system is moving westward at 15 to 20 mph and is expected to be several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands by the weekend.
