UPDATE: Nyron Erickson identified as man killed in Saturday’s shooting

The man killed in a drive-by shooting on Saturday in the West End area of Tortola has been identified as Nyron Erickson, a former fugitive previously linked to criminal activity.

Erickson was reportedly riding in the area when he was fatally shot. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has not announced any suspects or a motive and continues to investigate.


Graphic images of the scene have circulated on social media, though police have urged the public to await official updates. In an earlier statement, the RVIPF confirmed that officers were on scene and that additional information would be provided as it became available.


Following the incident, the road near Zion Hill by Big Ben’s gas station was temporarily closed. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes.
