Anegada Lobster Fest serves up another successful staging

Over a dozen restaurants participated in this year’s Anegada Lobster Fest, marking another successful staging of the popular culinary event, which kicked off on Saturday, November 29, and concluded on Sunday, December 1.

The event, held annually in celebration of the territory’s lobster season, welcomed guests to the sister island, where members of the BVI Tourist Board greeted visitors as they disembarked ferries. They offered event-themed memorabilia, further enhancing the festival’s festive atmosphere.

The Lobster Fest was celebrated under the theme, “Lobster, Fun and Anegada Sun.” Thirteen local restaurants participated, each serving a $10 lobster sample, with each venue showcasing a unique lobster dish. Sid’s Pomato Point emerged victorious in the event’s culinary competition, winning “Best Lobster Sample” for its standout dish. The competition was judged by renowned Executive Chef Shane Huggins, who serves as the Chef Ambassador for Saint Martin’s Gastronomy Festival 2024.

Despite a quieter turnout on Saturday, Sunday saw a significant increase in attendance, with more people opting to spend the entire weekend on Anegada rather than traveling back and forth. The increased activity led to a lively atmosphere, with music and revelry filling the air across the island.
