Beloved St. Croix Businessman and Owner of Bi-Rite Supermarket Dies During Car Accident in Florida

ST. CROIX — Many on St. Croix who knew the owner of the Bi-Rite Supermarket in Richmond were saddened to learn of his death in a traffic collision which occurred in Florida Tuesday night.

Munier Shrouf, 56, died during the three-vehicle collision while driving with his wife and daughter. The deceased's daughter was in the hospital receiving care as of Wednesday, the day Mr. Munier was scheduled to return to St. Croix, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Family members, friends and those Mr. Munier had close relationships with expressed disbelief and grief at his passing. On social media, they expressed condolences under a post published by one of Mr. Munier's nephews. 

The accident occurred near Shoppes at Paddock Park in Ocala, Florida. Along with the death of Mr. Munier, four other individuals were injured, including his wife and daughter.
