Boat hits object off Brandywine Bay; All occupants rescued

BRANDYWINE BAY, Tortola, VI- No less than eight persons were rescued after the vessel they were in struck an object and began taking in water off Brandywine Bay last evening, July 26, 2025.

According to information reaching our News Centre, the incident occurred in the vicinity of some channel markers.

The occupants of the vessel were said to be a group of Puerto Ricans who were heading to Road Town from the Christmas in July event at Virgin Gorda.

Several boats responded to the incident; however, VISAR and the RVIPF Marine Unit reportedly carried out the rescue.

There were no reports of injuries.
