Former BVI Port Authority Director Oleanvine Maynard Sentenced to 9 Years for Drug Trafficking

In a Miami courtroom on Thursday, former BVI Port Authority Managing Director Oleanvine Maynard was sentenced to nine years and four months in prison.‌

Presiding Judge Kathleen Williams handed down the sentence for Ms. Maynard’s role in a conspiracy to traffic cocaine and launder the resulting revenue. According to prosecutors, the scheme to allow drug-laden ships to use the BVI as safe harbor during their journey from Colombia to Miami included her son Kadeem and former BVI Premier Andrew Fahie. Kadeem Maynard is currently serving a 57-month sentence, while Mr. Fahie’s sentencing has been pushed back yet again, this time to August 5.
