Four arrested after gun and ammunition seizure, says RVIPF

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has arrested and charged four individuals following the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and drugs during targeted searches at two residences.

According to an RVIPF press release issued today, officers seized an AR-15 rifle, a 9mm Glock pistol, 52 rounds of ammunition, and 260 grams of cannabis during the operations. The discovery led to the detention and subsequent charging of four individuals.

Raheem Blyden, 32, of Crabbe Lot, has been charged with three counts of possession of explosives, possession of a prohibited weapon, keeping an unlicensed firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another.

Meanwhile, Shaika Jeffers, 31, Ayana Lennard, 29, and Chad George, 21, all of Sophie Bay, have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of explosives.

Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool has raised concerns over the escalating number of illegal firearms and ammunition recovered so early in the year.
