Governor extends Three Kings celebration to all corners of island

Gov. Jenniffer González Colón has extended the traditional Three Kings Day (Epiphany) celebration in La Fortaleza to all corners of the island.

Today, activities will take place in San Juan at the Coca Cola Music Hall-T Mobile District, in Añasco at the Las Olas Pools and in Manatí at the Luis Muñoz Marín Recreation Plaza.  Activities began over the weekend in the municipalities of Vieques, Culebra, Fajardo and Ponce, among others.

González Colón visited Vieques, where the Three Kings accompanied her to hand out gifts to children in the public plaza where Plenealo was playing and Melwin Cedeño was cheering. The governor and her husband, Dr. José Yovín Vargas Llavona, were with Speaker of the House of Representatives Carlos “Johnny” Méndez Núñez, Vieques Mayor José “Junito” Corcino Acevedo, Carolina District Senators Héctor Joaquín Sánchez Álvarez and Marissa Jiménez Santoni, and Office for Socioeconomic and Community Development of Puerto Rico Executive Director Astrid Piñeiro.

In Culebra, the governor, along with her husband and the House speaker, were received by Mayor Edilberto Romero Llovet.  The children received their gifts from the Three Wise Men at the Fine Arts Center where they enjoyed clowns, bounce houses and games.  In Fajardo, children enjoyed the educational attractions that the Firefighters Bureau brought to the Antonio Rafael Barceló public plaza and events coordinated with other government agencies.
