Lutheran Services golf fundraiser nets over $30K for Queen Louise Home for Children

ST. CROIX — Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands raised more than $30,000 during its annual charity golf tournament in support of the Queen Louise Home for Children.

“When we come together in these moments for the vulnerable children and adolescents at Queen Louise Home for Children, we come together as a family,” Junia John-Straker, the company’s chief executive officer, said in a released statement. The fundraiser, held earlier this month, kicked off with a cocktail party at the Carambola Golf Club, where the first of the two-day tournament was held. Golfers teed off on the second day at the Buccaneer Golf Course. Awards were later distributed during a luncheon at Buccaneer’s Brass Parrot.

In the Low Gross category, the Carambola Golf Club Team secured the top spot, with the Antilles Engineers Team in second place. In the Low Net category, the Castle Glassworks Team came in first place, followed by Pineapple Holdings LLC and the Frederiksted Hotel/Louie and Nachos Team in third place.
