Miramar Vice Mayor and Fire Department hosts “SAVE A LIFE: Family Summer Edition” event

In a bid to empower the community with vital knowledge and skills, Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis, in partnership with the City of Miramar Fire Department, is hosting the “SAVE A LIFE: Family Summer Edition” event.

This crucial public safety initiative is set to take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Miramar Commission Chambers, located at 2300 Civic Center Place.

The event is designed to educate and equip residents to respond effectively in emergencies. With an increase in preventable accidents and health crises, it is more important than ever for families to be prepared. The highly skilled Miramar Fire Department will lead the sessions, ensuring attendees receive top-notch training and advice.

Event Highlights:

  • CPR: Learn the critical steps of CPR to maintain circulation and oxygenation during emergencies until help arrives.
  • Stop the Bleed: Gain skills to control severe bleeding with tourniquets, hemostatic dressings, and direct pressure techniques.
  • Signs of Stroke: Recognize stroke symptoms using the FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time) method to act quickly and effectively.
  • Drowning Prevention: Discover essential water safety tips, supervision strategies, and rescue techniques to prevent drowning incidents.
