One Man Dead, Another Injured in Shooting Near Good Hope Townhouses on St. Croix

ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department is investigating a shooting near Good Hope Townhouses on St. Croix that left one male injured and another dead.  According to VIPD, the St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received ShotSpotter notifications in the area at approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 13, and several citizens also reported two male gunshot victims. Emergency Medical Services personnel later confirmed that one of the men had died. He was identified by next of kin as 26-year-old Sylvester Christopher Jr.  According to the release, the ShotSpotter alerts and citizen reports led authorities to the area of Good Hope Townhouses, where the incident remains under investigation.  VIPD said Emergency Medical Services personnel confirmed one of the males deceased. The department identified him as Sylvester Christopher Jr., 26, based on notification by next of kin.
