Primary Election Day Results Mostly Unchanged as Final Tally of Votes, Including Absentee Ballots, Are Published

The Election System of the Virgin Islands Tuesday night published the final results of the 2022 Democratic Primary election, including absentee ballots that were not counted when results came in the night of August 6.

The final results did not change the outcome of the election, with placements remaining virtually the same throughout the territory except for the senatorial race in St. Thomas where Lawrence Boschulte and Ray Fonseca switched placements — with Mr. Boschulte climbing to sixth place while Mr. Fonseca dropped to seventh.

See the full results here.

The 2022 Primary Election brought about 7,064 voters to the polls, or 20.36 percent out of the 34,697 registered Democrats, according to the Election System of the Virgin Islands.
