Taiwan Bursary Scholarship 2023 Presented to Vincentian Students

On December 11, 2023, Ambassador Fiona Huei Chun Fan of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Minister of Education and National Reconciliation Hon. Curtis King, and Chief Education Officer Mrs. Kay Martin-Jack presented the first batch of Taiwan Bursary Scholarships to Vincentian students during a ceremony at the Community College.

Minister Curtis King expressed heartfelt appreciation to Taiwan for its ongoing support of education in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), including initiatives such as the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship, ICDF Scholarship, and the Bursary Scholarship, which benefits students at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

Ambassador Fiona Fan congratulated the scholarship recipients and shared that this year, 524 students from various educational levels, including primary, secondary, tertiary, and technical institutions, will receive financial support. A total of 320,600 EC$ has been allocated for the scholarships. Since the program’s launch in 1998, over 11,000 Vincentian students have benefitted.
