Two St. Croix men have been arrested on weapons charges after police responded to a shooting in Gallows Bay, according to V.I. Superior Court records.
Ramon Mateo III, 27, and Califf J. Cassius, 20, were both arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and carrying or using an unlicensed firearm during a crime of violence in connection with Sunday night’s incident. Bail was set at $100,000 each.
According to the probable cause fact sheet filed by police, a detective heard approximately 10 gunshots fired in the Gallows Bay area around 9:03 p.m. on Aug. 3.
