UVI Establishes $10,000 Scholarship Fund to Honor Rehena E. Brathwaite Industrious

Endowment, funded by the Dorsey family, aims to support education and workforce development for Virgin Islanders, offering lasting impact for future generations

The University of the Virgin Islands announced that it is in receipt of $10,000 with which to establish the Rehena E. Brathwaite Industrious Endowment Scholarship Fund. The Fund, made possible through a charitable gift from Bridget Industrious-Dorsey and the Dorsey family, “aims to promote the advancement of education and the development of a sustainable workforce among Virgin Islanders,” said UVI.‌

“Endowment gifts, such as the Rehena E. Brathwaite Industrious Endowment Scholarship Fund, are designed to have a lasting impact for generations to come,” said Dr. Pamela Moolenaar-Wirsiy, interim vice president for Institutional Advancement. The endowment is invested by the Foundation for the University of the Virgin Islands, and scholarships are awarded from the interest accumulated.
