Virgin Islands Good Food Secures $30,000 Grant to Boost Local Agriculture

Grant to aid development of farmer-led Territorial Agriculture Group (TAG)

Virgin Islands Good Food has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Better Food Policy Fund through a collective action fund of the Tides Foundation. The grant, intended to support the Territorial Agriculture Group (TAG) project activities in 2024, is expected to be renewed for an additional $30,000 in 2025. Virgin Islands Good Food, alongside the Better Food Policy Fund, emphasizes the significance of civic collaboration to improve food policy. This funding will enable the continued development of TAG, a coalition of farmers, advocates, and agricultural professionals dedicated to advancing food policy and system improvements in the Virgin Islands, according to a release issued Thursday. Predominantly farmer-led, TAG is committed to integrating accountability, equity, inclusive governance, and leadership into its initiatives to build thriving markets and equitable food access for all Virgin Islanders.
