Virgin Islands Voters: Check Your Status and Update Records to Stay Active

The Election System of the Virgin Islands has announced updates to the voter registration status for several individuals in the St. Croix and St. Thomas-St. John districts, citing non-participation in two consecutive general elections as the reason for the change.

This adjustment is made in compliance with Title 18 Section 110 of the Virgin Islands Code, which mandates maintaining an updated voter registry.

Residents who have been classified as inactive voters are still registered and eligible to vote, Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes clarified. Inactive voters can reactivate their registration status by updating their information anytime before the polls close at 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

To cast a vote, these individuals will need to fill out an affirmation of current and continuous residence. This document requires voters to confirm that they still reside at the address listed in their registration, have moved within the same district, or have relocated to a different district within the Virgin Islands.

Once the affirmation form is completed and the individual has voted, their registration status will automatically be updated to active, allowing them to participate in future elections without the need to reaffirm their residency details.
