VITFF Releases Update on Virgin Islands Track and Field Athletes

The V.I. Track and Field Federation shares information on Virgin Islands athletes who are competing on the high school and college levels.

Virgin Islands Track and Field Team member Mikaela Smith, competing for Austin Peay State University, started off her Indoor Track and Field season at the BSC Panther Ice-Breaker in Birmingham, Ala. Mikaela finished 1st in her heat of the 1 Mile race with a time of 5:27.64. On Dec. 16, Mikaela competed on St. Croix in the Developmental No. 1 VI Season opener placing 1st in the 600m in 1:39.31.

Smith will compete next in the Ed Temple Invitational on Jan. 7, 2023, in Nashville, Tenn.

Virgin Islands Track and Field team member Rachel Conhoff, a senior at Ursinus College, started off her Indoor Track Field season at the Fastrack Season Opener in Staten Island, NY. Conhoff finished 1st overall in the mile race with a time of 5:06.80.

Conhoff’s next track meet will be the Collegeville Classic Invite in Collegeville, Penn., on Jan. 21, 2023.

(261) Mustang Akyra Joseph, St. Croix Track Club, competed in the 1st Developmental Meet at the St. Croix Educational Complex on Dec. 16. Joseph won the U17 150m in 19.74 and also placed 1st in the javelin throw with 14.44m and the long jump with 4.70m the Jolly Rogers TC, competed in the 1st Developmental Meet at the St. Croix Educational Complex on Dec. 16.
