POCKWOOD POND, Tortola, VI- Word reaching our News Centre is that the Director of Waste Management contract of Trinidad and Tobago national Mr Marcus E. Solomon will not be renewed.
Mr Solomon, who is expected to return to his home country this week, confirmed the end of his tenure in a social media post. He was appointed as Director in 2023 on a two-year contract.

In his social media post, he spoke about some of his achievements, including the rollout of waste reduction and diversion strategies, the end of subsurface fires, minimising smoke and the flies at waste disposal facilities and the expansion of house-to-house garbage collection.
Mr Solomon also noted that he was able to set up the export of recyclables such as waste oil, scrap metal, derelict vehicles and plastics and negotiate approximately $300,000 in grant/donation funding.
