3 Takeaways From the Trump-Musk Interview

President Donald Trump and his billionaire adviser Elon Musk sat down together for their first joint television interview Tuesday night, blasting the media and Democrats for the criticism of their work so far.

Speaking from the Oval Office with Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, Musk tried to turn the tables on Democrats who are accusing them of violating the Constitution.

“They are guilty of the crime of which they accuse us,” Musk said. Trump agreed, adding, “It's always the first thing they do.”

Tuesday’s interview comes as Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, an advisory effort he is fronting, are under intense scrutiny not only for efforts to slash government funding but for the extreme and legally dubious methods by which they are targeting agencies and programs that don’t align with Trump’s agenda.

Democrats and watchdog groups have raised concerns that Musk and his team have gained access to sensitive information in agencies such as the IRS and the Department of Education.
