ATHNIEL C. “ADDIE” OTTLEY ROAD NAMING CEREMONY

ST. THOMAS- Members of the 34th Legislature, led by Senate President Donna Frett-Gregory, attended the Athneil C. “Addie” Ottley Road Naming Ceremony held at Crown Bay Center Parking Lot. Ottley served in the 9th, 10th, and 13th Legislatures, and as Lieutenant Governor with the Honorable Governor Melvin H. Evans, the first elected Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He was also the President and Chief Executive Officer of WSTA 1340-AM, “The Peoples Station.” Ottley died on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Senator Donna Frett Gregory commended Ottley for his outstanding contributions to the Virgin Islands. “Addie had a unique and distinctive voice that embodied the Virgin Islands. It is fitting

to honor those who have given much of themselves.” Senator Dwayne DeGraff also shared remarks. “Addie is here in spirit. I can see it and I know it.”
