Commissioner Denise Grant and Farm Share to distribute free groceries in Lauderhill

In a concerted effort to tackle the ongoing issue of food insecurity, Commissioner Denise D. Grant of Lauderhill has teamed up with Farm Share, a Florida-based food bank, to distribute essential groceries to 300 local families.

This initiative is a crucial step in providing relief to residents still grappling with the economic fallout of the pandemic.

The event is set to take place at John Mullins Park in Lauderhill, where families can receive groceries on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the food distribution, a community cleanup will be held at Devon Hunt and the surrounding areas starting at 8 a.m. This encourages residents to contribute positively to their neighborhood before the distribution begins.

Commissioner Grant emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Food insecurity is a real issue that affects many families in our community. We are dedicated to providing assistance and resources to those in need.”
