Education Ministry responds to new molestation allegations

The Education Ministry has issued a response to a second wave of molestation allegations, this time involving another teacher at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS).

These new claims come just weeks after similar accusations rocked the institution, sparking concern among parents and the wider community. In a statement released yesterday, October 10, the ministry expressed its commitment to ensuring the safety of students and staff. “We want to emphasise our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and integrity in our schools,” the ministry said.

It also confirmed that the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) and the Social Development Department are investigating the matter. The ministry further noted that they have “implemented immediate and appropriate measures to ensure that the school environment remains safe.” However, no specific details were provided about these safety measures. The Ministry has appealed for patience during this period, explaining that they cannot provide additional details as the investigation is ongoing.
