Prince of Wales in Barbados for Republic celebrations

His Royal Highness Prince of Wales is now in Barbados.

The next Head of the Commonwealth was reportedly invited by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley to join the country for the momentous occasion when the two met in Glasgow during COP26.

At the Grantley Adams International Airport, the Prince met first with Governor General and President-elect Dame Sandra Mason, who in turn introduced him to PM Mottley, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Jerome Walcott, Maritime Affairs Minister Kirk Humphrey and others including the British High Commissioner to Barbados Scott Furssedonn-Wood. Furssedonn-Wood greeted his former "boss" with a firm nod and familiarity. However, on Twitter he admitted that greeting the Prince from this new position and point of view was very new.
