School Bus Accident on St. Croix Sends Students to Hospital; Investigation Underway

Several students required medical attention following a bus accident on St. Croix; an investigation is ongoing with involvement from the V.I. Police Department and the bus company

The V.I. Department of Education has announced that a school bus accident occurred on St. Croix as the bus was traveling west on the Queen Mary Highway Wednesday morning, transporting students to various schools.

According to the department, the bus was carrying students to St. Croix Central High School, St. Croix Educational Complex, and two students en route to John H. Woodson Jr. High School when it was struck by another vehicle. The collision caused slight damage to the bus.

Several students on board the bus required medical attention following the accident, the Dept. of Education said. Officials contacted the parents of the affected students, and arrangements were made to ensure they received the necessary medical care, according to the release.
