Education Department officials. “VIDE will take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our stakeholders as decisions are made,” according to a Monday release. Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol advises the public to avoid coastal waters due to heavy rain and potential flooding. Increased health risks from bacteria and contaminants in stormwater runoff are present.
