19 illegal migrants caught @ Cox Heath included Romania, Haiti & Honduras nationals

COX HEATH, Tortola, VI- The Department of Immigration has now stated that 19, rather than 17, illegal migrants were apprehended at Cox Heath on Tortola on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Virgin Islands News Online first reported on the nabbing of the illegal migrants on Friday morning.

According to the Department of Immigration in a press release today, April 22, 2024, with the assistance of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force 19 illegal migrants were caught at Cox Heath.

It said the illegal migrants, including “ten Romanians, seven Haitians, one Ecuadorian, and one Honduran nationals, two of which are minors, were detained by the authorities following a tip from the public. They were processed by the Department of Immigration and are currently detained and awaiting repatriation where possible.”
