VI to host first leg of WE VI 40 Plus Basketball Tournament this month - 1st leg of inaugural tournament slated for Dec 16-18, 2022

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- They may be past their prime but masters’ basketballers from St Thomas, St Croix, Virgin Gorda and Tortola will be eager to show they still have game when the first leg of a 3-leg 40 plus tournament is held on Tortola from December 16-18, 2022.

The inaugural WE VI 40 plus Basketball Tournament, the brainchild of VI Sports 4 Life Organisation, will first be played at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Tortola in December, then St Croix in January and St Thomas, US Virgin Islands in February 2023.

According to Director of VI Sports 4 Life Organisation Mr Karl M. Scatliffe, all islands have already confirmed their participation.

Mr Scatliffe told our newsroom that after having the 40 Plus league for years, there was a need to get local teams exposed so he reached out to associations in St Thomas and St Croix “as they had just finished their league and they had the same idea and were eager to come also, so that’s where the idea came from.”
