Guyana Amazon Warriors set to compete in historic Global Super League

Guyana will host the inaugural edition of the Global Super League T20 from November 26 to December 7, 2024.

This landmark tournament will feature five teams from five different countries, competing for a prize pool of US$1 million. Among the participating teams is the Guyana Amazon Warriors, alongside four other established T20 teams from around the world.

This event marks South America’s first standalone cricket tournament, and it is sanctioned by Cricket West Indies, with full support from the government of Guyana, a key stakeholder in the venture. The tournament will follow a mini-league format with 11 matches, where each team will play four games. The top two teams will advance to the final, and all matches will take place at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence. The Global Super League T20 is planned as an annual event, with new teams being invited each season.
